  • Pain and symptom management

Sometimes hospice care is not started soon enough. Sometimes the doctor, patient, or family member will resist hospice because he or she feels it sends a message of no hope. This is not true. If a patient does recover or the disease goes into remission, he or she may be discharged from the hospice program. However, the patient may be readmitted at any time if the doctor feels it is appropriate.

The hope that hospice brings is the hope of making the best of each day during the last stages of advanced illness.

Why should you choose VNA?

At VNA Hospice our interdisciplinary health care team manages your hospice care. Doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, home health aides, clergy, therapists, and trained volunteers care for you and offer support based upon their special areas of expertise. VNA Hospice provides complete care aimed at relieving symptoms while offering social, emotional, and spiritual support.  The goal of pain and symptom control is to help you achieve optimal levels of comfort while enhancing quality of life.

By engaging a motivated, skilled staff which uses a team approach, we offer a choice of services to fit your daily schedule. We stay linked to your Attending Physician. Our VNA Medical Directors are dedicated, experienced physicians, and are always available. They reinforce our link with your physicians by consulting with him or her as we customize your care.

Our VNA Goal: Give comfort to you and peace of mind to your family. At VNA our patients and families come first!
